Anti-Doping Initiatives

With the founding of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 1999 and
the commitment of all stakeholders to
a zero-tolerance policy towards doping, the need arose for a uniform set of rules that applied world-wide. This was implemented for the first time in 2003 with the foundation of the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) and updated in 2015. A new version is due to come into force on 1 January 2021.
