The website "Facts about Germany" and its associated social media presence are operated by Fazit Communication GmbH on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office.

According to Germany’s Foreign Service Law, it is in particular the duty of the Foreign Service to provide information abroad about the Federal Republic of Germany (Section 1 Subsection 2). This information duty is also referred to as “promoting the image of Germany abroad”. One of many measures in place to this end is the operation of the website "Facts about Germany".

This website is an instrument of international communication and aims to paint a comprehensive picture of Germany. In line with the objective of promoting the image of Germany abroad, the primary target groups of deutschland.de are foreign information disseminators and individuals interested in Germany.

Fazit Communication GmbH is an independent communications agency. It maintains several offices in Germany and a global network of authors. Fazit Communication GmbH is part of the F.A.Z. Group.
